A spacious 60m2 living room with in the back a large dining table, overlooking gardens. In the front a comfortable large lounge couch with chaise longue, overlooking typical Amsterdam houses with step-roofs. With a 52-inch HD flat screen, Blu-ray/DVD player to enjoy our movie collection.
Adjoining well-equipped open kitchen with dish washer, fridge, freezer, oven, microwave, coffee machine (Nespresso), water boiler and cooking equipment. Pans, sauce pan, frying pan and baking equipment can be found in the drawers.
Large balcony (with a roof so one can sit outside when it rains) with a view over the typical closed-in gardens of Amsterdam.
An extra room that can be set up to your wishes. Either as a third bedroom with 1 or 2 beds, or as a home office/workspace/study with a desk. But a yoga room will be fine too ;)

In our home we subtly try to make the rich history of Amsterdam come to life. Besides several coffee table books to get lost in, you will find throughout the house vintage items that each tell a tale of Amsterdam. From 16th century city plans that show the development of the canals, to an antique 1850s first-class travelers bench coming from Central Station. Or from vintage school charts of Amsterdams Golden Age, to a salvaged 1780s century prayer board of a church where seafarers went to pray before they left for their long voyages across the oceans. We simply love the adventurous history that made Amsterdam such a tolerant and easy-going city. If you can, read the illuminating Amsterdam by Russell Shorto. Well have a copy at home as well.

You have the whole apartment to yourselves. There will only be two rooms locked where we store some of our own stuff and supplies. We hope you will enjoy your unique private location.

Your privacy is respected. Assistance is available 24/7 in case of an emergency. The caretaker can be at the house in 30 minutes.

Due to neighbors underneath you and all the antiques in the house, the apartment is not suitable for children under the age of 8.

No shoes (especially heels) inside the apartment due to oak floor. Sneakers are okay. New, comfortable slippers are available for guests upon request.

Leave the place in the condition you were welcomed in.
No permanent changes to the house.
For long-term stay guests: use of our housekeeper 2x/month (extra costs 65 per session)
please respect these rules or risk losing your deposit/termination of your stay. In which case rental charge will not be refunded.

To prevent abuse of some of the rules mentioned above, there''s a surveillance camera in the entrance-hall (vestibule) OUTSIDE our home. It only registers people coming in.

Like all houses in the historic part of Amsterdam, no elevators are available. They simply didnt build them (or the space for them) between 1680 and 1920.


Just around the corner there are lots of small, really good restaurants (well leave a list of our favorites!) and pubs with special beers (more then 100!) and wines. The ''Pijp'' is a very safe neighborhood (also at night) with a mixture of small trendy shops, vintage shops and a traditional big street market. Its only a 5-10 minute walk to the Albert Cuyp Market, the Museum Square art-district with the Rijksmuseum, van Gogh museum and Concert building.

There is a very large supermarket, just around the corner: the AH (Albert Heijn).

Next to the AH supermarket is a very friendly, reliable and good dry cleaning service and clothing repair.

Gyms can be found on several locations near our home. From fitness training to spinning to boot-camp. Also several yoga schools are nearby. From classic yoga to bikram yoga.

Prior to your arrival you will receive a PDF by email including all the necessary info on the apartment, check-in, transportation, things to do, bike rental, our favorite places for great breakfast, coffee, food and entertainment. etc.

Located across the street are several tram stops and the metro station De Pijp that will take you anywhere in town. With metros and trams bringing you to Central Station, Dam Square and RAI within minutes.

Perfect connection to Central Station and Schiphol airport.
From Schiphol Airport you can take the train to Amsterdam Zuid station (ride of 7 minutes) and from there take metro 52 to metro station De Pijp (ride of 4 minutes). Follow the exit towards Ceintuurbaan. From here its a 2-minute walk to your home.

Around the house there are parking places but like everywhere in Amsterdam, parking is expensive! (6/hour).
